artist statement
I see energy, lifeforce, Prana, aura, flow, radiance, source, Unego, presence, spirit, frequency, Mana, light, essence, Hózhó, resonance, shimmer, Eros, vitality, field, Chi, breath, soul, Manitou, luminance, and Kurunpa. There is no single word to describe what I see, but these words circle it and point to the mystery.
My work is spontaneous and improvisational, as I paint what I see, feel, and connect with. I am drawn to anything that emanates lifeforce: people, animals, birds, fish, insects, trees, flowers, grass, mushrooms, rivers, oceans, and the living soil beneath our feet.
Each painting begins with a single line—a thread. Then another. Some lines intersect, others follow in harmony, and others wander off on their own singular course. These lines become maps of our journeys, reporting back from the places we’ve been, the transitions we’ve experienced, the external worlds we’ve witnessed, and the internal landscapes we create. These threads describe observations of the past, present, and future, woven together into a tapestry that spans both seen and unseen worlds.
I welcome commissions.
Thank you.
